In 2008-2010, a series of eclipses and occultations will occur
among the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn thanks to the equinox on these
planets occurring in 2009. The observation of these events provides valuable
data and is possible even with a small telescope. However, in order to be
scientifically useful, the observations must be performed very carefully
following very precise instructions.
The following notes provide more information.
