ASTROMETRY AND PLANETOLOGY TEAM
Institut de mécanique céleste et de calcul des éphémérides,
Observatoire de Paris, UMR 8028 du CNRS
The GAP team study physics and dynamics of the small bodies of the solar system thanks to two tools, celestial mechanics and astrometry
. The team is especially working on the dynamics of the main satellites of the giant planets and of the
double and triple asteroid systems. New theoretical models are built and observations are regularly made in order to
have the best material for the fit of the theoretical models.
The team is situated at IMCCE (Paris observatory) and at the Lille Observatory.
