First triple station meteor observation with "CABERNET"
On November 20th, the newly setup cameras of the "CABERNET" network (CAmera for BEtter Resolution NETwork) have each detected the same meteor, making the first triple station meteor observation from the Pic du midi observatory, Guzet ski resort and the Montsec planetarium in Spain. This event marks the beginning of the scientific exploitation of the cameras and crowns 3 years worth of efforts to setup the first professional meteor observation network. The cameras were designed by IMCCE with the help of GEPI (Paris Observatory) to accurately measure the trajectory of the meteors. This will allow us to determine the origin of interplanetary grains entering our atmosphere and to study the link with comets and asteroids.
